Email signature not showing in Gmail — how to fix it
Why your email signature has disappeared from Gmail and exactly how to get it back.
Email signature not showing in Gmail — how to fix it
- 1
Open Gmail → click the gear icon (top right) → "See all settings" → scroll to the Signature section.
- 2
Check that your signature name is selected in both the "For new emails use" and "On reply/forward use" dropdowns.
- 3
If the signature text box looks empty, scroll down inside it — the content may be hidden below the fold.
- 4
If you recently switched browsers or devices, re-paste your signature — session data may have reset.
- 5
Make sure "Insert signature before quoted text" is enabled if you want the signature to appear on replies.
- 6
If you originally pasted with plain Ctrl+V, the HTML formatting was stripped — re-paste using Ctrl+Shift+V (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+V (Mac).
- 7
Scroll down and click "Save Changes", then send a test email to yourself to confirm the signature appears.

// what people say
Loved by people who send a lot of email.
"I've tried four of these things. signcraft is the only one where my signature actually looks the way it did in the preview after I paste it into Gmail."
Elena Marrok
Brand Director, Vector Studio
"Rolled it out across our whole firm in an afternoon. Forty-two lawyers, one consistent look, zero IT tickets. That's basically a miracle."
Samir Rahimi
Managing Partner, Lumen Law
"I was about to pay someone $400 to design this. Did it in three minutes. Tasteful defaults — that's what I'm paying for, and it's free."
